To really capitalize on this mascara’s lengthening abilities, I like to first apply a starter coat, then I switch to buffing foundation into my face and add a few dabs of highlighter. What I love most about this mascara is that even though you can achieve a very dramatic result, the lashes stay soft and flexible to the touch and don’t get crispy. I always curl my lashes prior to applying mascara, force of habit, but regardless of this step this mascara genuinely seems to create a curl and definitely creates length and volume.

You need to apply at least 3 coats for it to cover well - which is no real hardship in the scheme of things.So after you finish working the formula through your fringe, don’t be surprised if and when all of your friends ask if you’ve recently obtained lash extensions. In the the last two weeks however I think I may have found a new high street competitor for my beloved Clinique!

Now I’m not sure I would say the maybelline mascara holds the lashes just as tightly all day as the Clinique but it’s VERY close! UPDATE: I find that I get best results when I use the brush at a 45-degrees-ish angle up from the base of my lashes rather than with curve straight on. It's also super because it's more like a tiny comb that catches, separates, lifts and lengthens each lash perfectly!The shape and length of the bristles made this so easy to apply, as you could really get into the root of the lash with ease.
