I have so much more that I love about this book but Im struggling to be coherent about all the little details that made this book so wonderful! I think the best advice I can give is for you to read this book!

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits—someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom. This book is addictive! Sooooo sweet! I’m mumbling “sweet and swoon” words like a sacred mantra for at least 45 minutes and I cannot stop! Ladies and gentleman: we officially have one of the dearest sweetest and hottest book couple and we’re introduced the best, charming, sexy, romantic, Alpha book- boyfriend Zafir ( Meaning of his name is victor, successful and triumphant one! Well, I may declare he triumphantly stole the most readers’ hearts!) PDF / EPUB File Name: Take_a_Hint_Dani_Brown_-_Talia_Hibbert.pdf, Take_a_Hint_Dani_Brown_-_Talia_Hibbert.epubDani was more of a struggle for me. I liked her nerdy side and her dedication to her research, but her commitment issues felt... tiresome for me by the end. It took forever for her to admit her feelings, and I grew tired of waiting for her to get there. I understand why she felt the way that she did, but it felt myself skimming and wanting them to just communicate. Major or minor, if something keeps you human when pressure makes you feel like a volcano, hold on to that thing by whatever means necessary." I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Get A Life, Chloe Brown, but I really, REALLY enjoyed the second book. This was a brilliant 5 star read for me. I feel like I can’t stop talking about this one and I just might not! I loved the first in the series get a life Chloe Brown so I couldn't wait to read take a hint Dani Brown it was whitty, moving and romantic sometimes all in one sentence.

As for Dani, well, she’s fantastic! She’s motivated and determined, she’s blunt and she’s confident, but she also protects her heart at all costs. She values her success in her academic field, and it was so wonderful getting to read about someone who so obviously loved what they did, and was not ashamed to put their focus on their work rather than other places. So yes, there was a lot to love about this book, but I did have some issues! Firstly, the plot kind of stalled in the middle of the book. There wasn't enough drama, and the pace slowed down due to many internal monologues. We knew from the start that Dani didn't do relationships, but I felt like I was being beaten over the head with it, as it was repeated over and over in both character's heads. This is me attempting to start out this review in a Fun Way, in the hopes that so much as one moment of my experience with this book can be Fun, because reading it was...not.Zaf and Dani were both lovable and relatable characters; Zaf being sweet, attentive and enjoys smutty romance, Dani being guarded and super cautious w her heart—couldn’t ask for a better dynamic. I really liked seeing Zaf teach Dani how to express her feelings and be more vulnerable. Eighteen-year-old Mallory Greenleaf is no longer interested in chess, not since her hypercompetitive dad left—the game calls up painful memories. But she grudgingly agrees to play in a charity tournament as a favor to best friend Easton Peña. After she unexpectedly beats current world champion Nolan Sawyer, she’s offered a fellowship that will prepare her to play professionally. Even though Mallory doesn’t want to play anymore, she needs the money that winning would provide; she’s delayed college to support her family, since her mother is chronically ill with rheumatoid arthritis and is unable to work regularly. The more time she spends with Nolan, the more Mallory comes to like and respect him—and the more time she spends playing chess, the more she remembers how much she loved it. But when she learns that Nolan has been keeping a big secret from her, she isn’t sure if she’ll be able to move past it to build a relationship with him. Filled with the author’s signature humor, well-developed characters, and realistic conflicts, plus the fully realized setting of competitive chess, this captivating romance will delight teen readers as well as Hazelwood’s adult fans. Mallory and Nolan are both cued white; there is some racial diversity among the supporting cast. Mallory and Easton are queer. Danika Brown, a clever, witty workaholic doesn't do romance, she's too focussed on her academic career, and has been burnt in the past. She just wants a friends with benefits type situation. When her sexy friend Zafir Ansari, a sensitive, brooding, romantic former rugby player rescues her from a disastrous fire drill, it goes viral, and they embark on a fake relationship to boost Zafir's rugby charity. Will their plan work? Or will it lead to more?! I do have to say that Zaf really stole the show for me though! He is the epitome of a soft and grumpy love interest. A big guy, ex rugby player kind of BIG, people are initially intimidated by his size and gruff voice, but deep down? He is a hopeless romantic, an absolute marshmallow. I mean, the guy gives Dani daily protein bars because he knows she doesn’t get time to eat in the morning and she always snatches them out of his hands 🥺

Dani Brown is career driven and doesn't want a relationship. Zafir and Dani are friends, but when he rescues her from an elevator and the whole thing ends up on line, things change. Zaf is an ex-Rugby player and they find they could both benefit from fake dating. Even though it is fairly obvious right away that Zaf would love to have more than Dani. I understand this is a trope being turned on its head; Dani is wealthy and alpha-female and anti-commitment but she had very few traits that softened her. A man in this situation wouldn't deserve his love interest so I don't think she deserves her hero Zafir. Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits - someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom. Two talented chess players challenge each other on and off the board in bestselling author Hazelwood’s YA debut. I loved the way this book challenged social gender construct, looked at how living with anxiety can affect your life, dismantling the misconceptions surrounding romance novels and explored vulnerability that was masked. Dani had a relationship where she was made to feel that she wasn't enough. This has influenced all her relationships after and she won't allow people to grow attachments and leaves if she feels they are. This is an issue that so many women feel that being just them isn't good enough Dani does take it to the extreme by refusing to compromise to at all. However this is clearly understandable but more important relatable. I found the way this was handle and portrayed was realistic.

Dani is a cynic when it comes to romance. Despite her fiery and blunt personality, she still comes across as very loveable human. Nevertheless, Zaf is easily my favourite character in the book (and funnily, Red was my favourite in Chloes book). I love that Zafs a romance-reading titan. All he wants is a happy ending. He also suffers from grief and anxiety, which is openly discussed throughout the book, and expertly covered. I found his way of thinking to very relatable and realistic, and his vulnerability is refreshing to read. He comes across as a big, aloof, grouch, but in reality hes a bit of a gentle giant. His goal is to combat toxic masculinity through sports and therapy hes too pure! As well as being super hot of course, Take a Hint, Dani Brown was also hilarious. Talia Hibbert has this impeccable talent of writing romance that goes from super steamy to laugh out loud in the same paragraph.Help! I’ve fallen [prey to my fairly high expectations and been brutally disappointed] and I can’t get up! It's predictable because its a rom com and obviously there are lay outs and expectations of a HEA but that didn't make it any less enjoyable. I believe what I’m enjoying the most is the wittiness amongst the sisters and Gigi. I love the sisterhood and friendship shown in both books. This second series was just as enjoyable as the first. I love the fact we have this huge man that is Zafir, all physical qualities screams MAN and ALPHA, but he is a huge romanticizing marshmallow. In terms of Dani he is understanding and appreciative of her person. That is so important in a relationship, especially for someone with the insecurities Dani has. She knows who she is yet feels like her personality hinders her from finding love. I can personally relate to that. But when you find a person who loves you, your mind, quirkiness, “faults”& your insecurities, that is a person who sees you. I truly enjoyed their HEA and Dani realization of her capabilities of expressing her love for Zafir. Also, whereas GALCB had heavy topics like this one, it was dealt with differently, using humour and cuteness, which made it so uplifting! TAHDB felt heavier, and not as upbeat. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it was just different.
