It has long been recognized that migration legends from natives in North, Central, and South America support the migration of advanced groups to various locations in the Americas corresponding to Cayce's accounts of Atlantis. In recent years, archaeological work has shown that Cayce's accounts of the Atlantean migrations to the Americas is consistent with the archaeological evidence. Now, however, research on a form of DNA recovered from ancient remains almost perfectly matches Cayce's account. This was an unexpected scientific surprise that appears to support the contention that Atlantis was in the Caribbean area. In particular, what is called "Haplogroup X" by geneticists, has been found in ancient remains in every location in the world where the Cayce readings state Atlanteans fled at three different times (10,000 B.C., 28,000 B.C., and 50,000 B.C.). Amazingly, Haplogroup X—one of 42 major ancient mtDNA groups identified—has not been found in other locations of the world. In addition, another DNA type, called Haplogroup B, appears to be from what Cayce and others have termed the ancient continent of Mu—or Lemuria. He distinguishes between Jesus, the most recent incarnation of a soul who had many lifetimes on earth, and the universal Christ Consciousness, the awareness of the oneness of all life. On October 11, 1928, the dedication ceremony of the hospital complex was held. The complex contained a lecture hall, library, vault for storage of the readings, and offices for researchers. There was also a large living room, a 12-car garage, servants' quarters, and a tennis court. It contained "the largest lawn, in fact the only lawn, between the Cavalier and Cape Henry". Archeological discoveries in Mexico, as well as in the Andes mountains of Colombia, dated to the same times as the final destruction of Atlantis, are changing our understanding of the timeline of human activity in this part of the world, and are consistent with Cayce’s readings. They suggested a culturally sophisticated group existed in Latin America that was the ancestors of the Maya, Inca, Aztec, and other civilizations of this part of the world. Cayce suggests that this civilization became a blend of people who left Atlantis during the second destruction, and mixed with those who later fled during the final destruction. Exodus to Egypt The wall itself is actually located in a small, narrow bay between what appears to be two islands. The bay is 3-7-feet deep, depending on the tide, and has sharks coming in at high tide. From the bay, the wall extends diagonally away from the two islands into water that is one-to-four feet deep ending where sandbars are located and the bottom is barely covered by water. About two miles further, through this shallow water, is the deep Tongue of the Ocean. While Edgar Cayce was no Nostradamus, his psychic gifts could be compared to such monumental abilities. Cayce's predictions were not as dark as Nostradamus, but he did predict that two U.S. Presidents would die while in office, the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, and the beginning of World War II. The people of Atlantis in addition to possessing advanced technology, were highly spiritually evolved beings as well. Cayce described them as being capable of telepathy, telekinesis, and astral projection, and were familiar with and capable of living in the fourth dimension.

That reading came from 1935, decades before the advent of modern computer technology which makes use of crystals in his processing. He provided further insight into the use of crystals, and their role in the eventual destruction of their civilization. Layne asked Cayce to describe Layne's ailments and suggest cures, and reportedly found the results accurate and effective. Layne considered Cayce's ability clairvoyance, and suggested that he offer his psychic diagnostic service to the public. Cayce was reluctant, since he had no idea what he was prescribing while asleep and did not know if his remedies were safe. He told Layne that he did not want to know anything about a patient, since it was not relevant. He agreed on the condition that readings would be free, and specified that if the readings ever hurt anyone, he would never do another. He began, with Layne's help, to offer free treatments to the townspeople. Layne described Cayce's method as "... a self-imposed hypnotic trance which induces clairvoyance". [22] Reports of Cayce's work appeared in newspapers, which prompted a number of postal inquiries. [23] Cayce said that he could work as effectively with a letter from an individual as with a person present in the room. Given a person's name and location, Cayce claimed that he could diagnose the physical and mental conditions of what he called "the entity" and provide a remedy. Cayce was still reticent and worried, because "one dead patient was all he needed to become a murderer". His fiancée agreed, and few people knew what he was doing. Hypnotic subjects were commonly believed to be susceptible to insanity or poor physical health. Cayce continued to work in an apparent trance state with a hypnotist all his life, and his wife and eldest son later replaced Layne in this role. In days when the peoples of nations gathered together to defend themselves against fowls of air and beasts of the fields, came to meeting in lighter-than-air machines.” The position as the continent Atlantis occupied, is that as between the Gulf of Mexico on the one hand - and the Mediterranean upon the other. Evidences of this lost civilization are to be found in the Pyrenees and Morocco on the one hand, British Honduras, Yucatan and America upon the other. There are some protruding portions within this that must have at one time or another been a portion of this great continent. The British West Indies or the Bahamas, and a portion of same that may be seen in the present - if the geological survey would be made in some of these - especially, or notably, in Bimini and in the Gulf Stream through this vicinity, these may be even yet determined. Cayce channeled that Atlantis was destroyed by three explosions, perhaps volcanic, seismic, or of some other source. But before the legendary land disappeared under the waves, Cayce revealed that there was an exodus of many Atlanteans to ancient Egypt. He attributed the Biblical Great Flood of Noah to be a result of the sinking of the last huge remnants of Atlantis. He also revealed that the many Atlanteans that managed to escape, in hope to preserve a record of their civilization created two separate archives with all their history and accomplishments so that it could be preserved for posterity. One of these archives was revealed to be buried under one of the Sphinx's paws.

In 1914, when the family lived in Selma, Alabama, their son Hugh Lynn injured his eyes and while the doctors were sure he would be blind they were willing to follow the treatment suggested in Cayce’s reading and after 15 days he could see. During that time, he only gave a few readings – mainly for friends -, worked and - as in most cities he lived in – taught Sunday school. Their last son, Edgar Evans Cayce was born on February 9, 1918. During the 1930s, Cayce incorrectly predicted that North America would experience existential chaos: "Los Angeles, San Francisco... will be among those that will be destroyed before New York".
