They survive, and luckily all three are rescued by a man named Rahim, whose origins are currently unknown. Alex comes back to school, flirts with Sabina for a bit, notices a few things which become important later on, get asked by MI6 to do something which ends up getting waaaay out of hand and saves the day alone, but ends up getting shot/injured/burned as a thank-you. He also tells Alex that he has murdered Straik and Bulman, as well as revealing his engagement to Bennett and that Bennett was the one who shot out the tires on the car in Scotland. The next day, Bennett takes Alex out in a Piper J-3 Cub crop duster and makes him apply the contents of the plane over the fields.

I appreciate that it would be much better for him to read the books but the good side is that I got him the earlier audios and the later books, not yet on audio. The fact that Alex involved himself in so much of the bad guy's overall plot was different, and it makes sense given that Alex is the kind of kid that he is. I do after all, come from a family where my mom shrieked the first time she saw me hug a male school mate. While McCain's guards try and stop him, Alex blows up the Simba Dam, killing them and flooding the valley, destroying the poisoned crops before the RAF can arrive from the Cyprus base. My 10yrs old grandson was showing little interest in stories so I introduced him to Alex Rider and he is hooked.

When i think there really couldn't be any more you could throw at Alex and continue this series Anthony finds another way to extend this story even more.

It seemed like there was no character development or anything, really - but I guess it was an okay quick read, and there were some awesome stunt! These story's are gripping moving and sometimes disturbing but that's what makes them so hard to put down. However Alex is once again brought back into this world after almost dying in scotland along with Sabina and her father in a car accident that wasn't an accident.There he spots Desmond McCain, a high profile charity organizer, who realizes that Alex is on to him and the real plans for the money he's raising.

Well I was definitely not disappointed, the book contains all the usual excitement from tense moments to full throttle action.Meanwhile, whilst looking on CCTV surveillance with Straik and Dr Myra Bennett (the Greenfields supervisor, and McCain's fiancée), McCain recognises Alex and puts out the word for information. In fact, the guy seems too good to be true: a champion-caliber boxer with a career-ending injury, a botched plastic surgery job to fix his face, a fortune earned in property development only to be caught in an insurance scam and sent to jail, a conversion to Christianity while in jail, even becoming a pastor, and finally founding a charity for the purpose of quickly responding to crisis areas around the globe. The man seems startled when he later comes upon Alex and his friend's father discussing his homework about GM crops. I've looked for a good spy series and I was simply delighted when I finally picked up the Alex Rider series. In fact I wrote my first book when I was ten, stuck in a miserable, north London boarding school where reading and telling stories were my only lifeline.
