Lett Appl Microbiol 40:50–55 The data for the European Alps as used in the present study and containing a total of 5050 perennial surface ice bodies were compiled for the mid-1970s (Austria 1969, France 1967–71, Germany 1979, Italy 1975–84, Switzerland 1973). Only 1763 of these ice bodies (35%) are glaciers larger than 0.2 km 2 with complete information available about surface area, total length and maximum and minimum altitude. The above-explained parameterization scheme is applied to this part of the sample. The remaining 3287 ice bodies (65% are perennial ice patches and glacierets smaller than 0.2 km 2 and are treated separately. According to S.H.P Miss Susannah Greene Stott, who had been known as a Bradford socialite, came to live in Pool House in 1874. (Eccleshill Hall was demolished in 1878) She had inherited the property and land from her cousin, Miss Susannah Stott who died on 11.4.1873 ( see Pool gravestone) After the death of Miss Susannah Greene Stott, on 25 th October 1883, age 59, also formerly of Eccleshill Hall, ( School Log records her funeral was held 29 th Oct. 1883) the house and land was left to her companion The Honorable Miss Augusta Mary Yorke whom she had adopted.. In 1892 at the age of 43, Miss Augusta Mary Yorke married Herbert Stanhope, aged 47 years from 43 Albermarle Street London. The census of 1911 states the house was inhabited by Herbert Stanhope and Augusta Mary, his place of birth is shown as Eccleshill . The marriage certificate shows his father as George S. Stanhope a Leutenant Colonel. Miss Yorke’s father was James Charles Yorke a late Captain in the 5 th Dragoon Guards. One reference in Miss Susannah Greene Stott’s will calls Miss York “The Honorable”. Nowell Stanhope Stott was President of Arthington Show 1908.

FEMS Microbiol Rev 26:327–338 The first Fugitive Slave Act was passed by Congress in 1793 and authorized local governments to seize and return people who had escaped slavery to their owners while imposing penalties on anyone who had attempted to help them gain their freedom. The Act encountered fierce resistance from abolitionists, many of whom who felt it was tantamount to kidnapping.
