Overall I am impressed with this range of products, I haven’t seen anything else like it before. I am happy with how it has left my hair feeling, there is a slight improvement in the shine that my hair has. I do agree that it adds nice rich tones to the hair and has definitely helped to blend out where my hair has grown out from my last dye job. I can’t really comment on these products individually about the effects as I did use them in combination with each other so will give my opinion at the end of this review. The information again is the same for this product. The directions for this product are as follows :- I do think this will be great to prolong my dyed hair for a few more weeks in-between dyings and I will continue to use it . It does leave my hair looking healthier and more manageable. I might try the John Frieda shampoo too, sounds good, does it make much change to the ‘natural’ hair colour?

Amazingly it didn’t take long for me to notice a change in my look – definitely after the second wash, my greys were no longer silver but warming to a soft caramel. The sharp metallic glint that best resembled sparkly lametta on a Christmas tree was now gone; in its place, an interesting colour palette of textured browns. The foam itself doesn’t have a scent and is a light beige in colour. Make sure to wash your hands after applying to the hair or it will stain your skin ! It is easily spread throughout the hair, although I did concentrate on the front of my hairline as this is where I have most Grey’s.This John Frieda Defy Grey Brunette Blending Blow Dry Foam gradually infuses brunette tones to blend away first greys. I have been using this set for the past 2 weeks so far however I don’t wash my hair daily, I believe to date I have used the products 5 times. In hindsight I probably should have taken before and after photos, I forgot to so sorry I don’t have that for you. We all have goals in life don’t we. One of my more trivial goals was to get to 40 without dying my hair. I made it, and I was thrilled about that, but I still didn’t really want to get into that routine of having to dye my hair.

For those who are also looking for a low-commitment solution to covering their first greys, the new Defy Grey range is a hassle-free way of helping to blend away whites on brunette hair with less than 50% grey. The clever combination of coffee extract and GreyBlend technology works by depositing a natural-looking brown tone on the pigment-less strands of hair, which then blends with your own shade from the first use. I don't want all over colour and I definitely don't want to go darker. I'm quite happy with my natural colour but I dont suppose my stylist will be able to match it exactly. I guess I'd like some lights dotted around, maybe a shade or two lighter than my own, to blend in as much of the grey as possible. I don't want it to be glaringly noticeable as it grows out, either. I'm not brave! I've got to 50 without feeling the need to colour my hair and I'm really quite apprehensive. I don’t wash my hair all that much – once a week, or twice if I’m particularly enthusiastic about my self care. So over the following month (and several washes) my regular hair care was replaced by the Defy Grey. This John Frieda Defy Grey Brunette Blending Shampoo gradually blends away first greys into brunette tones. With Coffee Extract & GreyBlend™ Technology. So, I used the John Frieda Defy Grey shampoo and hair mousse twice in a misguided attempt to see what my hair would look like without so much grey hair ( my hair is pretty much white all around my face now as I have been growing it out for a few years). Hair is left soft and manageable. If, like me you are trying to hold off dying your hair for now, give this a whirl. Going grey is one of life’s quirks I could happily go without. It serves no purpose other to remind me that time’s getting on – I’m getting old– and even though that message has been coming through since my early twenties, it’s never hit harder than now. I don’t like having grey hair, I just don’t have the patience or sanity to deal with it. If I could just wave a wand and become ‘brunette me’, I’d do it. Maybe I’d look a little less broken.

Im just not sure the blonde shade does much for my complexion, plus I'm really interested to see what my grey looks like! Both the shampoo and conditioner smell amazing to use. Not too dissimilar to a premium fragrance, the divine scent creates a luxurious experience from what could be a mundane task. The silky texture of the chestnut shade shampoo feels lovely too and it lathers into a rich foam easily, and even though the product is coloured, it doesn’t leave a mark on my hands.Discover a simple way to blend away grey. Formulated with coffee extract and GreyBlend™ Technology, Defy Grey Brunette Blending Blow Dry Foam reacts with heat to transform greys for multi-dimensional brunette. It’s difficult to tell whether the products have worked when you’re looking at wet hair, so I had to dry it off to see properly. I could see some obvious greys still, around my ears mainly and then some wispy strands along the top. I guessed I probably didn’t apply it so well or washed it away in the process. But interestingly, it seemed not to look so grey. It wasn’t an obvious change, but I was sure something was different. Both my parents, despite being dark-haired we never really that grey. Neither of them ever used hair dye and still only had a few greys. Their deaths certainly gave me a few of my own, but I’m still at that stage where I can pull out the odd one and get away with it. John Frieda’s latest game changer comes in the guise of the new Defy Grey haircare system. A range of home use products comprising a shampoo, conditioner and blow dry foam, Defy Grey promises noticeable results after a single wash, thanks to its revolutionary blending coffee extract formula. After I first wrote about my grey hair quandary, I chanced upon a new haircare range by John Frieda, and it was quite the miraculous discovery. Torn between colouring and not colouring, I realised there was a mid ground solution I needed to give a go, and to my surprise the lovely folk at John Frieda agreed.

Whether or not to go grey is, of course, a deeply personal and emotional choice; one that can be defining in how we see ourselves ageing. So when it begins to happen, the most important thing is that we feel empowered to have a choice; to be armed with the right information on how to get the best out of our hair, whatever the shade. And then to be prepared for compliments incoming…Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Glycol Distearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Cocamide MEA, Parfum, Malic Acid, Lactic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Benzyl Alcohol, Dimethyl Isosorbide, HC Blue No. 2, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, 2-Amino-6-Chloro-4-Nitrophenol, HC Red No. 3, Glycine, PPG-9, 4-Hydroxypropylamino-3-Nitrophenol, Glycerin, Coffea Arabica Seed Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Phenoxyethanol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene. A friend uses a kind of colour felt tip thingy to colour in greys but a) that sounds a lot of faff to do daily and b) I don’t know if it would really be doable on hairs that are white all the way along the strand. Hers are greying from the temples so easier I think to daub a pen thingy over little sections in that scenario but not sure it would work for me. I’ve been dyeing my hair – mainly to keep on top of my greys – for more years than I can remember. I was somewhere in my late teens when hair colouring was done for fun and feeling ‘grown up’ rather than necessity. But recently I grew tired of the upkeep in maintaining a look of youthfulness and perfection I was far from feeling, so I gave up on the dye. Colour depositing conditioner specially designed to blend away greys and reveal brilliant brunette hair. Brunette Blending Blow Dry Foam DISCLAIMER: NOT A ROOT TOUCH UP PRODUCT.
